Save, share and recover .tmst jobs
Keep artwork, photographs and report setups in one portable job.
Last reviewed 20 October 2026 · Development documentation
What a job contains
A .tmst job keeps design settings, imported artwork and original photos, the photo collection, saved mock ups, editable setups, report alternatives and job-specific branding together. It does not include the whole installed workshop catalogue.
Save or Save As
Use Ctrl+S to save the current job, or Ctrl+Shift+S to make a separate copy. Saving an older .traymaster.json job creates a .tmst copy and keeps the original JSON.
Move the job
After saving, the job can open without the former artwork and photo folders because imported originals are copied into job ownership. Assets discarded by an older app cannot be reconstructed from processed geometry or pixels.
Avoid simultaneous edits
If another Tray Master window changes the same file, normal Save rejects the conflicting change. Use Save As to keep your work separately or reopen the newer job. This is not a distributed file synchronization service.
Recover and back up
Automatic recovery uses a separate app-managed slot protected for the current Windows account. Keep your own regular backups. Job passwords and workstation account secrets are not bundled as plain preferences.
Use a compatible build
The PDF layout editor uses project schema 12. Open jobs in the release that created them or a later compatible release. Keep an original copy before testing a newer beta.
Follow the Cohens example
The Cohens job retains the original survey photographs and its saved mock ups alongside the design. The website displays selected project views; the complete customer job and artwork source files are not distributed as downloads.
